Withdrawal Policy
Version 2026-10-03. This document is part of the General Terms and Conditions.
This policy applies to consumers. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession (Sec. 13 BGB). Entrepreneurs within the meaning of Sec. 14 BGB have no right of withdrawal.
Instructions on withdrawal
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us
Orbita Media GmbH
Ericusspitze 4
20457 Hamburg
Germany
E-mail: support@orbita-media.de
Telephone: +49 15679 036138
of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example a letter sent by post or an e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. You can also fill in and submit the model withdrawal form or any other unequivocal statement electronically on our website at https://shelfpublisher.com/legal/withdrawal. If you make use of this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (for example by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
Expiry of the right of withdrawal
Your right of withdrawal expires prematurely in the case of a contract for the supply of services if we have fully performed the service and we started to perform with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully performed by us (Sec. 356(4) no. 2 BGB).
The order page states both declarations directly above the order button, and you give them by placing the order. Because we start to perform as soon as your payment has been received, every order contains them.
What counts as performance in our case
The services we owe for a Slot are set out in clause 4.1 of the General Terms and Conditions. We begin to perform as soon as your payment has been received: we reserve one ISBN for each Slot you bought straight away. A print-ready repair of a file starts as soon as its payment has been received and is usually complete within minutes. Complete performance of a Slot means, in particular, that the manuscript has been reviewed, an ISBN has been allocated, the title has been registered in the bibliographic directories and has been set up with the distribution channels. A Slot that has not been used at all has not been performed; if you withdraw before using it, you receive the full amount attributable to that Slot back.
